In every kingdom, there must be a king.; in the kingdom of business, there is also a king. There is one who determines the state of business. The king is always in charge of the direction and dimension of the business. If the king quits the business closes permanently. Who would not take care not to upset the king in his dominion and reign.
The Customer is the king of every business. It's amazing how many businesses struggle to keep up with their competitor in many ways yet you discover that not few organizations are folding up and closing business. A major reason why a business will lose its focus is when the customer discovers a better choice.
Businesses should pay attention to satisfying the needs of their customer. getting customers is one step, retaining them is another. Getting to know the appropriate reaction and response of your customers is another to sustain their loyalty. you take note of the petty things that matter to them for instance calling to check how satisfied they are with your products or services. or calling to wish them well on annual celebrations including their birthdays.
Once a customer mentioned that it's the organization he patronizes that remindes him of every annual events including his birthday...and adds to say they are first to send him warm pleasantries. That customer feels relaxed with his patronage and does not consider an alternative.
There are things we may consider little; but it's the little things that may matter most to the customer. Remember he is the king of the business kingdom. it may not matter to anyone else but it does matter to him.
